Introduction (Super Belated!)

Hey all! So here I am, several posts later realizing that I never properly introduced myself! So, without further ado, here’s a little about me.

I’ll be a senior in college this coming fall with a major in English, a concentration in journalism, and a minor in marketing.

Aside from my school and work life, something I’m sure passionate about is health and fitness! Here’s a little bit about why.

Why Fitness is Important To Me

Aside from the obvious physical gain that comes with exercise, exercise is great for mental health. Exercise makes me so much happier and I use it as a way to lift my spirts when I’m down.

I try to workout at least once a day. This gives me some kind of structure, especially since structure for everything is essentially gone since Covid-19.

I like to challenge myself and push my body to do great things. Learning new exercises is one of my favorite things. I like to view working out as a way of celebrating what your body can do. And you would be so surprised at all the amazing things you can accomplish when you put your mind to it!

Why I Choose a Plant Based Lifestyle

I choose to follow a plant based lifestyle for moral reasons. I have educated myself on the meat and dairy industries and it is honestly horrifying to me the way that the animals are treated. I like to promote a vegan lifestyle but at the same time I don’t want to shame anyone who doesn’t also follow this type of lifestyle. It is totally okay to disagree and have your own set of beliefs.

I have learned that a vegan lifestyle is honestly so simple, too! Often times when i tell people I’m vegan I get things like “I could never do that” or “what do you miss the most?” And I can honestly say that I don’t miss a single thing. There are fun plant based substitutes for nearly everything! I like to encourage others to try plant based recipes because you never know, you could completely fall in love with this way of life the same way I did, AND it makes a difference. Being vegan makes me feel good because I feel like I’m doing what’s right for the animals and I know I’m actively reducing my carbon footprint.
